Nintendo and The Pokémon company launch new website offering free music licenses

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have launched a new website that includes a library of soundtracks for the 2006 NDS version of Pokémon: Diamond/Pearl.

The main purpose of this site, called Pokemon DP Sound Library, is to provide users with free genuine music for games for use in non-commercial video editing and composition.

Players can choose up to six songs to create their own party music. There’s also a playlist area on the site that can be played and sorted by themes, such as Adventure, Leveling, and Challenge categories, and more.

The site also features demos of self-made works by creators and artists using these libraries, such as DJ Alan Shirahama’s work. The site will be updated to include other demos in the future.

Some time ago, we reported that a large number of videos by YouTube anchor Gilva Sunner were removed by Nintendo complaints, involving more than 2,000 infringements in various works such as “Kirby Star”, “Fist of the Dead” and “Animal Crossing”.

Gilva Sunner announced on Twitter that it will delete her YouTube channel no later than this week. And today’s announcement of a new site for Nintendo and The Pokémon Company clearly has a lot to do with that event.

“Pokémon: Diamond/Pearl” was remade and landed on the NS platform in November last year.
