On mobile devices, Android hasn’t given Microsoft’s competition a chance. Now Android is spreading directly to Windows. Big names from the Android world are also part of the game.
This is a curious find that has not yet been fully elucidated. One of our colleagues found a button in the Google Play Store that was very surprising to see there.
Wow, I’ve never seen the official @GooglePlay Store offer a cross-platform Windows download for an Android game.
I thought it was the new Play Games for Windows at first, but it’s not – it’s powered by an emulator called PURPLE.
Is this the only instance of such an integration? pic.twitter.com/wNRUegRSOO

Namely, for the opened game, this button offers the download for Windows. At first glance, this fits in with the announcement that Google Play Games will soon be available for Windows.
Google Play Store also links third-party emulators
As the colleague could see, this download button establishes a connection to Purple in the background. Obviously a hitherto unknown emulator for Android apps on Windows.
After some research, however, it was clear that Purple is an emulator of the developers who developed the corresponding game. In this way, the publisher enables the provision of its Android games for Windows on its own.
Google Play Games is probably not yet
Still, it’s curious that the whole thing is official enough for Google to offer a corresponding download button in the Play Store. However, it has nothing to do with the plan to offer an Android platform for Windows in the first countries with Google Play Games. However, Amazon, Google and other third-party providers are obviously very interested in a closer connection between Android and Windows.
