According to the film and television media Deadline, Disney+ announced to shoot a live-action series adapted from the Goosebumps series of novels. The streaming media platform recently announced on TCA that it has won this project.
The series will be developed in 2020. Neal H. Moritz (Goosebumps Movie) is co-created with Scholastic Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television, and again adapts R. L. Stein’s novel (previously filmed and dramatized).
The Goosebumps series of books belong to the category of children’s literature and horror novels, and the plots between the books have a lot in common. Its protagonists are teenagers who are in the middle of supernatural events and trying to get out of it, but different series will have different protagonists and settings.
The protagonists generally come from middle-class families, both male and female. They are generally in environments far from bustling society, such as suburban areas, summer camps or boarding schools.
