Recently, according to data released by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier on Twitter, the sales of a single game of GTA 5 have exceeded the sales of the entire Resident Evil and Assassin’s Creed series, and will soon catch up with Final Fantasy.
Data Display:
- The entire Assassin’s Creed franchise (as of November 2020): 155 million copies (still less than GTA5 as of now)
- The entire Final Fantasy series (as of September 2021): 164 million copies
- The entire Resident Evil series (as of December 2021): 123 million copies
- Rockstar’s “GTA5” (as of February 2022): 160 million copies

It is worth mentioning that the next-generation version of GTA 5 will be released on March 15, 2022, and the new GTA work has been officially announced on February 4. It is in production. Take-Two CEO is full of confidence in the new GTA work.
