According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Tesla has recalled 578,607 U.S. vehicles due to the speaker function.
According to reports, Tesla is trying to recall some 2020-2022 Model S, Model X, Model Y and 2017-2022 Model 3 vehicles because of the onboard “Boombox feature” that allows the vehicle to play music through external speakers while driving.
The vehicles do not meet federal motor vehicle safety standards for minimum sound requirements for electric vehicles, NHTSA said. Because if the sound of the car horn is masked, it may cause some pedestrians to not be aware of the approaching vehicle in time.
Tesla has issued 10 recall applications in the United States in the past four months under increasing scrutiny from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
It is worth mentioning that at this time yesterday, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said that Tesla will recall 26,681 vehicles in the United States due to a software bug that may reduce the performance of windshields defrosting.
