Battlefield 2042 refund petition has exceeded 160,000 signatures

Battlefield 2042 was not good for the first time, and the follow-up repairs were pushed again and again, and players finally lost patience. Recently, we reported that some players started a petition on Change.org, asking EA to provide refunds to all players of Battlefield 2042 on all platforms. Now the number of people participating in this petition is skyrocketing.

The Battlefield 2042 Refund for All Platforms petition was started about four weeks ago and didn’t get much traction at the time. But in recent days, thousands of players have suddenly flooded the page to sign up.

The main reason for this should be that EA and DICE announced that a series of content updates large and small for Battlefield 2042 will be delayed. EA said Battlefield 2042 won’t release new content until the summer, which is six months after the game’s launch. Updates like voice chat and standings will also be delayed.

Today, the refund petition has easily surpassed 160,000 signatures, making it one of the most popular petitions on Change.org of the year. Neither EA nor DICE responded to the petition or the player’s request for a refund.

While there have been reports of Steam offering refunds to Battlefield 2042 players, PlayStation and Xbox players have struggled to get refunds due to strict anti-refund treaty restrictions. We already saw a similar situation with Cyberpunk 2077 last year, and it’s really hard for players on the Xbox and PlayStation digital stores to get a refund.

According to the petition description, if the signature exceeds 50,000, the sponsor will contact lawyers to file a class action against EA and DICE.

Since its release last November, Battlefield 2042 players have encountered numerous bugs, missing features, and various other issues. Some issues have been fixed, but new ones are always appearing. And important features like voice chat are still missing.

According to Change.org site statistics, “Battlefield 2042” refund requests are currently the third-largest petition in the video game field of the site. The top six petitions are:

  • Making Xue Ji DLC for Mortal Kombat 11 (381,000 signatures)
  • Please Valve Don’t List School Shooting Themed Games (279,000 Signatures)
  • Refunds to Battlefield 2042 players (160,000+ signatures)
  • Rape Day game removed (128,000 signatures)
  • Continued support for Star Wars: Battlefront (118,000 signatures)
  • Make Shirley Curry an NPC in The Elder Scrolls (49,000 signatures)
