Instagram is one of the most popular applications in the world, but it is far from perfect, even and above all in its version for Android devices, which among other things has been carrying with it a malfunction for several months now.
In the last few weeks, we have talked to you about the work on the Reels, the news for the Stories and more recently about the launch of Your business. Today, however, we want to focus on something much less pleasant.
Instagram for Android and that unsolved problem
It is useless to go around it: the Instagram application for Android devices is made worse than its counterpart for iOS and its inferiority is primarily linked to the worst photographic quality generally offered through the in-app camera.
Furthermore, especially on the folding ones, the compatibility problems with screens of different diagonals are very evident (in the video on OPPO Find N we showed you how OPPO has put a patch on it, but it is not an ideal behavior anyway).
All these flaws have long been known to Facebook (today Meta ), but they have never been solved and indeed there is even another one to add to the list: it has been for months now that some users of Instagram for Android have come across random freeze the application while scrolling in the feed.
The reports on Reddit and other forums are many and dated 2021, but similar complaints had already been made a few years ago. Android Police’s Artem Russakovskii himself reported on Twitter that he had occasionally encountered this problem for months and received numerous replies from other users annoyed by the situation.
Since last year these occasional Instagram freezes have been found on smartphones of various brands – Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi – and with different versions of Android (Android 11 and Android 12 ), it is evident that the problem depends precisely on the application.
The facts have shown how it is possible to temporarily bypass it by continuing the scrolling and then coming back, but this certainly does not improve the experience of using the app.
The fact that the bug – which seems to concern the detection of the activity status – is not generalized probably has not yet prompted Instagram to intervene, however, a fix would be very appropriate. Numerous other users, however, have also reported the exact same problem with Instagram Live.
