The Galaxy Tab S8 and S8 Ultra have suspended pre-orders in the US due to ‘excessive demand’

People around the world can already start ordering new Samsung flagship hardware following the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Tab S8 lineup this week. XDA-Developers noted that Samsung’s US website shows that both the regular Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra are listed as “sold out,” with only the Tab S8+ still available for pre-order.

Samsung provided a statement on the reason for the pre-order suspension:

We are very excited about the consumer response to our new Galaxy Tab S8 series. We are suspending pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S8 on Samsung’s website due to high demand over the past 48 hours. We are working quickly to meet the excitement and needs of our customers. Stay tuned for more updates.

As of press time, the missing Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is available for pre-order from Best Buy, but the Galaxy Tab S8 isn’t available at that retailer.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series comes in three sizes, ranging from 11 inches to 14.6 inches. All models are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor, with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on the Tab S8 and Tab S8+, and up to 16GB and 512GB of storage on the Tab S8 Ultra.

All three models get improved S Pen performance, as well as updated displays, and the Tab S8 Ultra has Samsung’s largest Dynamic AM OLED 2X screen and dual 12-megapixel front-facing cameras.

Those who pre-order the new tablet from Samsung’s website will be eligible for a free ultra-thin keyboard cover (the Ultra’s keyboard is also backlit).
