Steam Deck will be released in two weeks, and Valve seems to be stepping up its testing program for its new handheld game console. Over the past week, more than 150 games have achieved “Verified” status on Valve’s official rating system, bringing the number of ” Verified” games on the Steam Deck to 294.
The “Verified” level means that the games are fully compatible with Steam Deck, and the Game Verified Level also includes “Playable”, meaning they will work, but may have unoptimized elements such as control schemes or small text, in addition, the Verified Level Also includes “not supported”.
The Steam store currently has over 60,000 games in total and is growing at a rate of around 10,000 per year, so Valve’s testers will never be able to keep up with game growth. However, even if Valve can only guarantee a good experience for a small portion of its vast catalog, that’s a lot for a handheld launch game lineup.
IT House has learned that the current highlights of the “verified” level include: “God of War 4”, “Horizon: Dawn of the Dawn”, “Brain Navigator 2”, “Vampire Survivor”, “Tetris Effect”, “Death Stranding”, ” Great God HD” and 7 “Like a Dragon” games and more.
SteamDB also lists 193 Steam Deck “playable” games, including The Witcher 3, Valhalla, and more. There are currently 60 unsupported games, including Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Persona 4: Gold Edition, and Jelly Bean.
