According to reports, Amazon and Spotify are reportedly considering a bid for podcast service provider Audioboom, which is listed in London, England, and has seen revenue and share prices climb during the pandemic.
Amazon and Spotify have reportedly been considering acquisitions in recent weeks, and a decision to formally submit a takeover bid could be made as soon as this month. It is reported that Amazon has cooperated with investment bank JPMorgan Chase on the matter.
Audioboom’s current market value is about 275 million pounds (about 2.37 billion yuan) , and in October 2020, its market value was only 24 million pounds.
Audioboom’s revenue rose 125% to $60.2 million for the year ended December 31, 2021, and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) was $3 million, a milestone. With approximately 32 million unique listeners worldwide, Audioboom is the fourth-ranked podcast in the United States.
