According to the latest exposed Surface Laptop 5 specifications, the processor will provide both AMD and Intel’s powerful CPU. According to the specifications shared by Windows Prime, the notebook will be available in 13.5-inch (2256×1504 resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio) and 15-inch (2496*1664 resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio), both offering PixelSenseFlow refresh rate of 120Hz.
In terms of processors, the 15-inch Surface Laptop 5 will be available with AMD Ryzen 7 6980U and Intel Core i7-1280P CPUs, while the 13.5-inch version offers Intel Core i5-1240P, Core i7-1280P and AMD Ryzen 5 6680U three a choice. Ryzen models offer up to 21 hours of battery life, while Intel models offer up to 19 hours.
In terms of memory, both models offer 8GB, 16GB and 32GB of LPDDR4x memory. The AMD Ryzen Edition Surface Laptop 5 CPUs will allegedly only be available in select memory configurations. On the GPU side, the Intel version uses the Iris Xe iGPU, while the AMD version uses the new RDNA 2-powered Radeon graphics.
Storage options include 256GB, 512GB and up to 1TB. The nominal battery capacity is 58WH, and the minimum capacity is 56.3WH. As for the I/O ports, you can expect all the latest wireless solutions like WiFi6, Bluetooth 5.1, USB 4, Thunderbolt 4, USB-A port, 3.5mm headphone jack and a Surface Connect port.
