The models of the 12 series have now arrived together with the small of the 12X range. Now the spotlight is on the future of the series and on the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which could also be accompanied by the newcomer 12 Ultra Enhanced.
The super flagships will debut later (at least according to rumors), so we will have to wait a little longer. Display
At the moment we know very little about these alleged devices: however, the most recent indiscretions focus strongly on the design, showing us a not indifferent change of course. We will not find a rear Second Display as onboard the previous Mi 11 Ultra, but we will have a huge, circular photographic module.
Initially, it was thought that the two top devices, namely Xiaomi 12 Ultra and 12 Ultra Enhanced were the certified models respectively with the codename Loki L1A and Thor L1. Actually, these should be the next MIX 5 and MIX 5 Pro terminals; at this point, the Ultra range would lack the license, a detail that makes some insiders reach out to the hypothesis that Xiaomi 12 Ultra will not see the light. We look forward to furthering confirmations and in the meantime, we continue with the rumors.
The rumors have moved towards a single Ultra model, which will be equipped with a 6.6 ” display with 2K resolution and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, positioned under the screen.
Hardware
One would think that the heart of Xiaomi 12 Ultra is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Qualcomm’s latest high-end solution, supported by LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
However, rumors speak of the Xiaomi flagship as one of those that will have the next Qualcomm chip, rumored as Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. We should have a 120W supercharge, but to date there are no details on the battery capacity.
Camera
There are also rumors of the photographic sector of Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which according to the various leaks would have important dimensions . Apparently we will have a triple camera with a 50MP Samsung GN5 main sensor, accompanied by additional modules, 48MP 0.5x wide-angle and 48MP telephoto lens with OIS and 5x optical zoom.
It seems that the two models are able to offer a zoom of up to 120X (15X during video). To conclude in a big way, there are rumors of a possible collaboration with the giant of photography Leica.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced: what are the differences?
There are no precise details regarding the differences between Xiaomi 12 Ultra and the alleged Enhanced version. Probably the “improved” variant will have a camera under the display on its side, similar to the MIX 4. For this reason, it is assumed that Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced could be the future MIX 5. Obviously for now they are all hypotheses and the various characteristics are still in the making.
When does Xiaomi 12 Ultra come out?
While for the 12 range models we had the debut during the month of December, as regards Xiaomi 12 Ultra and 12 Ultra Enhanced we will have to be patient in the course of 2022. There is not yet a certain time window and everything is like a rumor; the most plausible hypothesis is that the debut is set for mid-February, after the Chinese New Year. Furthermore, it seems that the two devices will only arrive in China, but also in this case we are awaiting official confirmation.
