The physical version of Cyberpunk 2077 completely collapsed after the upgrade

The next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 was finally officially released this week after months of delays. Players in the PS5 version can experience the haptic feedback function, and many bugs have been fixed through a huge 50GB patch. But not all PlayStation players are happy with this upgrade, and PS4 physical disk users have begun to cry without tears.

On social media and CDPR’s official forum page, a large number of Cyberpunk 2077 physical disk users reported that each iteration of the PS4 version was accompanied by a startup error. PS4 players who have installed the 1.5 update patch only see a data corruption prompt when launching the game, asking to delete the app and re-insert the disc to reload the game. But this series of operations still can’t fix the problem encountered during startup.

CDPR global community director Marcin Momot posted on the developer forum page that the studio had noticed the problem and started working on a solution. The reason for the error when launching Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS4 physical disc is unclear, but the PS4 is clearly not the only platform experiencing problems.

Momot said CDPR was also investigating the crash on the PC version, which may have been caused by an audio software conflict. Therefore, Momot recommends that PC users disable the audio driver before launching the game. But PS4 players don’t even have such temporary measures.
