Here’s how Samsung Expert RAW works and on which models it is available
As anticipated, the operation of the Samsung Expert RAW app is the same as in traditional Pro modes. This means that the app allows us to intervene on parameters such as ISO, exposure, shutter speed, focal aperture, white balance, and focus.
And all this for both photos and videos. So what changes between the normal Pro mode and the Samsung Expert RAW app? First of all, the support for these manual configurations is valid for all sensors, i.e. primary, wide-angle, and telephoto lenses.
In addition, there are further parameters such as the calibration of highlights, shadows, saturation and hue as well as the histogram, HDR support, and saving in Lossless JPG or DNG RAW16-bit Linear. In this regard, there is no lack of integration with Adobe Lightroom to open and edit the RAW photos taken.
Which models are compatible with Samsung Expert RAW
Being an app that requires some photo processing, Samsung Expert RAW doesn’t work on any smartphone model. Here is the official list published by the South Korean company:

According to Samsung, for the app to work properly the technical requirements include SoC Exynos 990 / Snapdragon 865 or later, 8 GB of RAM and a 2x telephoto lens with Bayer RAW support.
