Windows 11 will offer better multitasking features

Multitasking can be a challenge if you need to have multiple apps open at the same time. In Windows 11, Microsoft introduced features like the Snap layout and the Alt+Tab shortcut, making it easy to organize windows on the desktop. In the upcoming Sun Valley 2, Windows 11 will provide better multitasking capabilities.

Further, optimize the Snap layout

The Snap layout has been provided in previous Windows versions, but in Windows 11, Microsoft has further subdivided and optimized it. With Snap Layouts, you can create a Snap layout by opening multiple programs, then pulling a program to the front and moving it to the right or left side of the screen to snap it with other open windows.

You can run applications side-by-side, resize windows, or hover over the maximize button to access existing Snap layouts, including one that groups windows into a square grid. Microsoft is experimenting with a new way to snap windows into the Snap layout, which also supports mouse and touch like other Snap features.

With this new feature, you can create a Snap window by dragging a window to the top of the screen, which worked very well in the test of foreign technology media Windows Lastest.

As shown in the screenshot above, when you drag a window to the top of the desktop or screen, a new “Area” popup appears and you need to drop the window into the defined area to create a layout. You can continue with layout settings using Windows 11’s Snap accessibility feature.

New visual and graphical improvements

In addition to new areas for Snap layouts, Windows 11 also brings new visuals for Snap layouts and other multitasking features like Task View and Taskbar. In Windows 11 22H2, Alt+Tab and taskbar previews will include desktop wallpapers to make it easier to distinguish between groups and other windows.

Also, ALT + TAB has a new design. After the update, the application inside the Alt + Tab screen will appear windowed. Microsoft is testing these multitasking improvements in Windows 11 Build 22557, which will be released to consumers as part of the Fall 2022 Update.
