Apple is expanding production capacity for the Apple Watch

China-based Luxshare Precision Industry Company plans to spend around $2.13 billion to produce six new machines, Reuters reports.

The company is one of the largest suppliers for Apple and has so far taken care of AirPods, but also iPhones. However, the company now included the following content in an application to the stock exchange: smart wearable devices, smart mobile terminal precision components, and high-voltage connection systems for new energy vehicles.

According to 9to5Mac, this could be an indication that Apple now wants to integrate Luxshare into the production of the Apple Watch in order to prevent production shortages.

In the end, however, “smart wearable devices” can mean many things, but even before the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 7, there were reports that there had been delays in production. It would therefore be logical to expand the respective capacities.
