According to the latest media reports, many users are very interested in the Apple Health application, but they can not access the application’s data on their iPads. A new patent shows off a redesigned Apple Health app that could mean a lot for the Apple Pencil.
It is reported that the patent was exposed by Patently Apple, which shows an iPad-specific health application. Notably, the program comes with a new “scratchpad” designed specifically for the Apple Pencil.
Some analysts have pointed out that such a configuration seems to be designed for health care workers: the “name” and “date of birth” fields at the top of the pattern and the links for different categories (health and tags, etc.) look much like traditional hanging Paper medical files at the bottom of the hospital bed.
Since the Apple Pencil can be used for input, it can also be used in the “Scratchpad” function, so there is reason to believe that it can be used for the input of health data.
It would be great for users if “scratchpads” became common in iPad apps. At the same time, it makes a lot of sense to have a way to combine notes with text input, which could make it useful in recipes, journals, budgets, and any other application that deals with lots of information.
The rest of the newly exposed Apple patent is all about user sleep, including sleep data, wake events, sleep sessions, and more. This suggests that what really keeps Apple engineers awake at night is the sleep tracking feature, and future iPhones and Apple Watches will offer more detailed sleep tracking.
As with previously exposed patents, there is no guarantee that anything detailed in the patent will land into an actual product, this is only an insight into Apple’s current ideas.
