According to the latest report, users can now access and share action shots, images and clips from Sony PlayStation 5 games. Sony is gradually allowing PS5 players to access screenshots and clips from the PS app on iOS and Android devices.
Sony first rolled out the feature back in October last year in select regions such as Japan and Canada. The company has been testing this feature, presumably to adjust the capabilities and permissions required to access multimedia content from the PS App.
To start using the feature, PS5 users will need to turn it on manually. This feature is available on the Screenshots tab of the Settings menu. Gamers will have to enable the “Auto Upload” setting. To start sharing on your iOS or Android device, go to the PS app and enable “Screenshots” under the “Library” option. In addition to clips, the console will upload any screenshots taken with the Create button or Create Menu shortcut. All uploaded content is available through the PS app.

Since the content is accessible through the PS App, users can easily share it on social media platforms. Previously, the PS5 had extremely limited sharing options. Players can only transfer captures to a computer using a USB drive. This feature overcomes limitations, but also has its own set of limitations.
Sony currently does not allow any footage recorded in high resolution. In other words, the PS5 will not upload any clips recorded in 4K. In addition, the length of the clip will not exceed 3 minutes. There are no such restrictions for screenshots.
Sony’s servers will purge all content older than 14 days. It seems that the time to expire depends on the timestamp of creation. With auto-uploads enabled, the PS5 may upload clips to Sony’s servers on the same day. While the server will retain clips and screenshots for 14 days, locally stored content will remain on the PS5.
Sony chose the Americas as the first region to officially receive this new feature. Players in regions such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay should get the new feature this year, the company said.
