Microsoft and Obsidian are rumored to discuss Fallout: New Vegas sequel

Well-known uncle Jeff Grubb said that Microsoft has begun to discuss the sequel to Fallout: New Vegas and everyone believes that the proposal has certain feasibility and is studying how to implement it.

It’s not a word out yet, but people are using terms like ‘New Vegas 2’ and ‘Obsidian’ in the conversation unabashedly,” Grubb said.

But people are at least interested in making it happen. There are a lot of people here at Microsoft who believe the proposal has some viability and are happy to push it forward.

Fallout: New Vegas was born in 2010, produced by Obsidian and published by Bethesda. Obsidian’s CEO showed interest in the sequel as early as 2013, but the IP is in Bethesda’s hands, and Obsidian is only ready to be dispatched.

After Microsoft acquired ZeniMax/Bethesda, this obstacle no longer existed. At that time, players saw this possibility and compiled various jokes to make fun of it.

Grubb also speculated on the talk show that Microsoft might remake all well-known IPs, including old Gears of War and the so-called “Fallout Legends Edition”:

This conversation has aroused fanatical associations among players, from Fallout 1/2 to Vegas, from Fable 1 to 2, from Morrowind to Oblivion… Seeing that things are getting bigger, Grubb later clarified that this paragraph is purely personal speculation, There’s no evidence that Microsoft meant it.
