Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk face trial over the latter’s 2018 compensation package. In 2018, Tesla awarded Musk a compensation package worth about $2.5 billion.
Tesla shareholder Richard J. Tornetta sued Musk and Tesla’s board after the compensation package was approved. Tonetta said in the lawsuit that the compensation was too high and that Tesla’s board of directors violated fiduciary duty by approving the compensation package.
The trial is scheduled for April 18 in Delaware Chancery Court, documents released by legal transparency database PlainSite show. This date may change.
