Xiaomi Band 7: A leaker reveals what will be better

After the Mi Band 6 introduced the long-awaited contactless payments, many are wondering what the Xiaomi Band 7 will bring back to the plate. The beginning of 2022 has already brought to light the first rumors about its news, to which new very interesting information is now added.

Also because the source of origin is a well-known insider, MagicalUnicorn, who at the time leaked some of the news that we later found on the Xiaomi Mi Band 6. Therefore let’s see what we can expect from the next smart band model of Lei Jun’s company.

First of all, the information published by MagicUnicorn comes directly from the software code present within the Zepp app itself. The code name is L66 (“Pangu” was that of Mi Band 6), while the codes reveal the presence of two models: M2130B1 and M2129B1.

Two models that, as happened with the current generation, could represent the variant with and without NFC of the new Xiaomi smart band. Yes, because obviously, the new model will also offer the possibility of making contactless payments through the connectivity sector.

But let’s move on to the real news. As MagicalUnicorn indicates, Xiaomi Band 7 should have a larger screen, albeit not by much. An indiscretion that seems to marry with the previous leak, according to which the smart band will have a similar look to its rivals Huawei and Honor.

Speaking of the screen, the leaker gives for certain new features such as the Always-On Display, thus being able to take advantage of the OLED technology to have watch faces that always keep the display active. There is also talk of energy-saving, with one or more modes that, once activated, would guarantee greater autonomy as long as you sacrifice some functionality.

Among the uncertain functions, however, the leaker talks about GPS connectivity, but remember that according to his past leak it should have debuted on Xiaomi Mi Band 6, so let’s take it with a grain of salt. In addition, there are functions such as Smart Alarm, which is the ability to set alarms that are self-activating when in the morning we are in a light sleep phase, and Passcode to protect payments with a password.
