In December last year, it was reported that Sony is preparing to launch a direct competitor to the XGP subscription service on the PS4 and PS5 platforms, codenamed Spartacus, and the service will be divided into multiple levels, providing PS4 massive game library and PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP. A library of classic games, and will also integrate current PS Plus and PS Now services.
Based on recent developments, the day when the service is officially unveiled may not be far off. According to media reports, some foreign forum users broke the news that their PS Plus and PS Now subscription services have been integrated.
Specifically, subscription information for both services will be displayed in PS Plus, not separately. In addition, some users who renew the PS Plus service reported that they received the same subscription length of PS Now as a gift.
Of course, this may also be a display problem on the PlayStation server, but judging from the revelations before and after, it is very likely that Sony is preparing for the new service. And there are reports that Project Spartacus is “very close” to its official release.
