We are now a few months away from E3 2022 and the insider and reporter Jeff Grubb may have revealed the Xbox plans in advance. Grubb, who in the past has shown himself to be very close to the video game industry, anticipating some official announcements, stated which will be the probable titles that Microsoft will bring to its classic conference that will open the Los Angeles event.
According to Grubb, the reboot of Perfect Dark (announced in 2020 during The Game Awards) could be one of the great protagonists of the Xbox conference, complete with gameplay videos. “Perfect Dark could be released in 2023 or 2024, possibly alongside Avowed, as both have been in development for nearly 5 years,” said Grubb. On the Obsidian game, however, there are no certainties, although obviously, five years of development could be more than enough to show something convincing.
Of course, Microsoft has other plans as well. They will definitely focus on Starfield and probably Redfall, but also Forza Motorsport 8. They will also have a space to show us some games coming in 2023 and that’s when I expect the reveal of the Perfect Dark gameplay, continued Grubb. Considering that the Xbox line-up currently only includes two games for 2022 (the two Bethesda titles), it is very likely that during the conference there will be some announcements for just next year. On the other hand, there are several “dormant” IPs and with The Coalition working on several fronts as well as Gears of War, it is entirely legitimate to hope for some surprises.
At present, we urge you to take these statements with a grain of salt. While knowing the insider’s high reliability, Xbox’s plans for E3 2022 may change based on game development. So we just have to pass the wait and find out what will happen in June, when the event officially begins.
