In addition, the desktop version of Firefox 98 has changed the way downloads are handled – instead of showing pop-up prompts by default, downloads will be automatic, just like Chrome and most other web browsers. Downloaded files can also be removed from the download panel via the right-click/context menu.

Finally, the Android version of the Firefox Focus browser will soon have an HTTPS-only mode that will prevent websites or resources from loading non-HTTPS protocols.

Firefox 98 also fixes several issues:

  • Slow when searching for stored passwords
  • Dark theme for tabs in Tab Grid view
  • Delete menu overlaps address bar when switching between portrait and landscape modes
  • The title is blank when sharing content
