Mac Studio shipping date on Apple’s US website has been delayed to April-May

Shortly after the High Energy Teleportation spring launch on March 8, all Mac Studio models had their shipping dates pushed back by a few hours. Apple Insider pointed out that higher-spec Mac Studio models have been delayed until mid-April to late May. Obviously, this is inseparable from Apple’s supply chain management strategy and the chip shortage that the world continues to experience.

Within three hours of launch: $1999 entry-level Mac Studio console (10-core CPU + 24-core GPU / 16-core Neural Engine + 32GB unified memory), estimated delivery shown March 23-30.

However, the estimated delivery time of the $3,999 high-end model (20-core CPU + 48-core GPU / 32-core Neural Engine / 64GB unified memory) has been delayed to April 13-20. The two SKUs mentioned above are only the default options listed on Apple’s official website. For more customization, tweaking just one configuration option can result in longer shipping wait times.

For example, if you want to increase the high-end Mac Studio model with a 20-core CPU to 128GB RAM, it will not ship until May 11-25. Oddly, if you buy the base version and just add Final Cut Pro software to your order, the 20-core CPU version of the Mac Studio model will arrive a week early (April 6-14).

As of Apple Insider’s press time, the latest shipping date for custom configurations is May 25, a full 2 months and 1 week later than the March 18 announcement at Apple’s press conference.

However, with the easing of initial orders, as well as improvements in shipping delays and supply chain shortages, the wait time for subsequent Mac Studio console orders is expected to be further reduced.

If you can’t wait, you can also contact the nearest Apple Store retail store directly to see what stock will be available on March 18th.
