Windows 11 gets March cumulative update: Enhanced taskbar experience

During this month’s Patch Tuesday event, Microsoft released cumulative update KB5011493 for Windows 11 users. This cumulative update includes all the fixes and improvements from the optional update released at the end of last month, the most notable of which is the introduction of several features to the taskbar.

With this update, it’s easy to share content from other apps to Microsoft Teams while attendees are in a meeting. Likewise, Microsoft is adding a clock to the taskbar for dual monitors, which is useful if you use multiple monitors. Microsoft has also fixed the remaining performance issues in the operating system. This includes a bug that affects the read and writes speeds of some storage devices ( SSDs and HDDs).

Additionally, it is now possible to quickly mute and unmute Microsoft Teams calls directly from the taskbar (next to the system tray). By making it easier to mute Teams calls, Microsoft will eliminate the need to switch back and forth between Microsoft Teams and other apps just to mute the microphone. This new experience promises a better meeting experience so users can stay focused.
