The Samsung Exynos 1280 chipset may be more powerful than expected

In a couple of days, Samsung will launch some new smartphones of the Galaxy A series, among which the mid-range Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is expected, which is practically already official. The information found in the Google Play Console by MySmartPrice suggests that the Samsung Galaxy A33 may be equipped with an Exynos chipset known as S5E8825.

It was originally expected to be a Samsung Exynos 1200 chipset, but other rumors from SamMobile suggest that it is actually an Exynos 1280 chipset.

The Samsung Exynos 1280 chipset may exceed expectations

The new rumors suggest that the Samsung Exynos 1280 chipset may include two ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocked at 2.4 GHz paired with six ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 2 GHz and that there may also be the ARM Mali GPU. G68 with four cores clocked at 1,000 MHz. Presumably, this is an SoC manufactured with 5 nm technology.

If these specs are confirmed, the Exynos 1280 chipset could be quite powerful for a smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy A33. The leaked specs are indeed very similar to those of the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset and in theory, the Exynos 1280 could offer even better graphics performance. In turn, the Dimensity 900 chipset is quite similar to the Snapdragon 778G, the heart of the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G released last year.

If the specifications of the Exynos 1280 chipset are confirmed and if the South Korean giant manages to keep prices unchanged, the Samsung Galaxy A33 could offer excellent value for money.
