Last week, Google released the second Android 13 developer preview. With the efforts of foreign technology media, many new features in the new version have been discovered. First up are the redesigned media controls, which are in their usual place between quick settings and notifications, but their widgets are now bigger.
New media controls and output selector
The title and description of the song can be placed inside. The media output selector has also been redesigned to align with Android 13’s design language. There is also an option to pair a new device directly in this menu.
New wallpaper effects
Android 13 provides users with new wallpaper effects. Dubbed “Cinematic Wallpaper” in the developer preview, it will allow users to apply effects to their wallpapers. It’s unclear what the effect will be, but the image below shows you’ll be able to dim your wallpaper. Some manufacturers’ custom ROMs for Android systems already allow this, such as Samsung’s OneUI and Xiaomi’s MIUI.
FGS
The Foreground Services (FGS) task manager will be at the bottom of the Quick Settings and Notifications panel, showing the applications currently running in the foreground. You will be able to monitor which applications are currently actively running, and stop them.
