Google advertises night mode for almost all Android phones

This is an interesting post because it’s kind of confusing. Google claims that basically, every Android device has a night mode within the camera app. It sounds like Google offers such a night mode on the devices themselves. That raises question marks.

So Google says Android has a night mode on board. This is available on almost all devices, regardless of the manufacturer. In fact, that’s true. At least partially. In any case, Google now offers a night mode via Camera from Google, which can probably also be used by other apps. Snapchat for example.

Google also offers night mode on very cheap Android Go smartphones

Google seems to offer a basis for a camera app that I haven’t seen before. It has some familiar features but is visually different from apps like the Google Camera on the Pixel phones.

The image from the tweet is reminiscent of a commercial in which Google advertised the night mode for Android Go phones at the time. But even without the night mode directly from Google, this feature is now available on many devices in all price ranges.
