Rockstar Games has recently announced GTA+, a subscription service for GTA Online, which offers various bonuses for a monthly fee. The players, however, even before the publication of the service, are criticizing the proposal of the developers.
Through social media, you can read various criticisms of GTA+. Some users claim it’s just a way to offset the decrease in Shark Cash Cards sales (although we don’t believe this claim is based on actual data, much more on guesswork).
Other GTA Online players claim that the monthly deposit of GTA $ 500,000 is too low for the six dollars required by GTA+ and add that the rest of the bonuses are easily obtained just by playing. Furthermore, it is explained that the presence of the Career Builder function, which allows new players to evolve their character quickly so as to avoid spending several hours to farm the money necessary to obtain basic equipment, makes GTA+ not very useful.
Some fans also claim that you have to pay for PlayStation and Xbox subscriptions to play GTA Online, so the GTA+ subscription becomes an added bonus. Furthermore, the lack of dedicated servers is criticized.
Overall, some users didn’t like this proposition, but that’s nothing new. Often services of this type receive criticism from a slice of the community. Even the base game is certainly criticized by many, but at the same time, it is one of the best sellers ever, including the new versions of PS5 and Xbox Series X | S.
