Who uses and recommends Messenger Signal? A new list published on Github should provide information about this. A list of well-known people, companies and organizations who use and/or recommend the private messenger Signal has recently been made available on Github.
Also included are recommendations from “independent” media and tests on the list. The list is only a first selection of entries for which public documents could be found, as the press officer of the Signal Foundation for the German-speaking area has informed us.
Stiftung Warentest recently tested messenger apps. Out of 16 messenger apps, 15 had essential deficiencies in the data protection declaration. This also applies to test winner Signal. Nevertheless, the Stiftung Warentest recommends the app as an alternative to the market leader WhatsApp, because it is “functionally better and also technically more versatile”.
