Microsoft recently started bringing a beta feature in Build 22572, optimized for tablets, such as a taskbar that automatically adapts to screen rotation. It will provide two states: contracted and expanded. Microsoft’s plan is to minimize clutter (temporarily remove certain features from the taskbar) when the system detects your device is a “tablet”, so the taskbar is touch-friendly.
However, now there is a problem – Microsoft has also removed the small taskbar functions of the desktop platform while optimizing the operation logic of the tablet. For example, you can no longer arrange or move those background icons in the system tray by dragging and dropping icons.
As we all know, the overflow icon of the system tray will be presented as a pop-up window with a “^” icon on the taskbar, which contains various application systems running in the background, which reduces the visual clutter of the taskbar to a certain extent. , and helps users manage background programs more easily.
At present, although there is no change in the system tray itself, Microsoft no longer supports dragging icons to arrange icons in the system tray or taskbar. Users initially thought it was a bug, but an updated version suggests it was an intentional change by Microsoft designers to help tablet users reduce accidental touches.
