Users of Vanced, the alternative app for YouTube on the Android platform, have noticed. The app is discontinued, the reason behind it is also clear – and of course, there are also alternatives.
After the shutdown, the developers announced that the app would still work as is – and it actually does. Nevertheless, Google has now classified the app as potentially harmful.
This means that users will receive warnings from the security system Google Play Protect. The warnings that the device is at risk and that the app can be uninstalled may annoy many users and prompt them to uninstall Vanced. Surely no one will want to disable Google Play Protect just to be able to use Vanced in peace.
