Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro: The latest Google phones are selling well, but arguably not well enough compared to the competition. Google speaks of sales records for the Pixel 6 cell phones but has not announced any details.
And it’s still unclear whether the latest generation of Pixel phones will only be popular in the United States. It still seems that Google is doing decent sales, especially in its own country, but still not in the rest of the world.
If you look at the new data on the premium segment from a device price of 400 dollars, Google is still not really well represented. According to Counterpoint Research, the colorful G makes it to third place in North America. In all other markets, Google is not represented in the top 5.

Even Xiaomi, whose strengths are actually between 200 and 400 euros device price, can be found in six out of eight markets among the top 5. The reason for this was the Mi 11 series, according to the analysts.
Admittedly, Google had the disadvantage last year of not having a device in the upper mid-range. The Pixel 5a was only available in the US and Japan, nowhere else. So for these analyses, too, Google is clearly hoping for the Pixel 6a this year, which will hopefully be released worldwide.
Google laid the foundation with the first Tensor generation
After all, I know two people privately who bought a Pixel 6 themselves. Another one I passed on in the family. Otherwise, Samsung and Co. are dominant, even if my circle of acquaintances is of course not representative. But I still rarely see current or older Google phones on the streets. The latter may change if the Pixel 6a is well promoted and offered at a fair price.
