So far, very few users see what’s coming soon for Android Auto. Now other innovations have appeared. Android Auto will soon be getting a new graphical interface called Coolwalk.
Behind this is a new view that shows other apps at the same time in addition to the map. This should actually work on all displays in the cars. So that this is really possible, there is now also a vertical view, as the first users noticed.
The strange thing is that Coolwalk was still not distributed to everyone. There are still very few people worldwide who can already use Coolwalk. Sometimes for months. Google seems to have started a first test run. The new “Coolwalk Vertical Rail” appears to allow for the all-important toolbar to appear vertical rather than horizontal.
Android Auto gets new features that are no longer secret
Cast and Coolwalk for Android Auto appeared for the first time a few months ago, but have not yet been officially presented or even distributed worldwide. We had hoped so at the beginning of the year, but things turned out differently. Coolwalk is the renewed user interface, while Cast makes mirroring the smartphone display possible.
