Since well-known actor Will Smith slapped the host at the Oscars ceremony, some studios began to distance him. According to The Sun, platforms such as Netflix and Apple TV+ have been interested in buying the rights to a biographical film based on Smith’s best-selling autobiography.
After the Oscars, however, the companies “quietly” pulled bids for the project, reallocated funding and developed ideas from new black actors.
“Working with Smith has become a dangerous thing. They now plan to invite more family-friendly stars like Mike Epps and Michael B. Jordan,” the report said.
