There have been a number of recent OnePlus Nord 2 fires that have even left victims with severe burns. OnePlus officials said after the investigation that these incidents were caused by external forces caused by customers. Now, there’s another OnePlus Nord 2 fire, while the user was on a phone call.
Twitter user @lakshayvrm tweeted last week that his brother’s OnePlus Nord 2 caught fire while he was holding the call. Fortunately, the victim was unharmed and was not injured in the incident. Lakshay Verma added that he and the victim went to a service center at CP in New Delhi for a solution and were asked to wait 2-3 days, only to be told that the Nord 2 was burnt and that OnePlus couldn’t do anything about it.
@OnePlus_IN Stop promoting/introducing new phones and start working on your existing products.
My brother’s phone One Plus Nord 2 burst out suddenly while he was talking on phone.
Portions of melted metal got clinged on his palm and face.
We will get this reported shortly. pic.twitter.com/x1pVoDosZM— Lakshay Verma (@lakshayvrm) March 26, 2022
The Twitter user attached a picture of a burned-out OnePlus Nord 2, showing the phone was completely damaged beyond repair. The screen is shattered and the bezels come off the back panel. The explosion appears to have occurred near the left edge of the phone, which is where the phone caught fire in early cases.
