This week’s Galaxy S22 sales in South Korea are expected to exceed half of one million

Despite being caught in the whirlpool of running score cheating because of the “Game Optimization Service” (GOS), the sales of Samsung Galaxy S22 series smartphones in South Korea seem to be quite good. It is reported that since its release, Samsung has sold an average of 24,000 Galaxy S22 units per day, and is expected to break the 1 million mark this month. Korea Times noted earlier this month that Samsung has sold more than 900,000 Galaxy S22 standard, Plus and Ultra models in its home market.

While negative news has led to a recent decline in Galaxy S22 sales, Samsung has achieved this feat in less than two months since its official launch on February 25. Sales of the flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra are said to account for 500,000 units in its home market of South Korea alone. We’re not surprised, given that the Galaxy S22 Standard/Plus models are little changed from the previous generation and in some cases even a step backward.

Even more impressively, the Galaxy S22 hit its million-dollar domestic sales almost two weeks earlier than last year’s Galaxy S21 series, and 47 days earlier than 2019’s super-popular Galaxy S10 series.

At the same time, Samsung claimed that the three Galaxy S22s performed well in overseas markets, with sales increasing by 70% compared with the Galaxy S21 series, but did not disclose more precise figures. Of course, we cannot ignore the massive promotional subsidies offered by local mobile operators such as KT and LG Uplus.
