Registered developers can download the beta version through the Apple Developer Center. After installing the corresponding configuration file, the beta version will be available through the software update mechanism in System Preferences.

Support for generic controls was previously introduced in macOS Monterey 12.3. According to Apple’s release notes, the Universal Controls in the new iPad OS 15.5 and macOS Monterey 12.4 updates are not compatible with devices running macOS 12.3 or iPadOS 15.4, so Apple recommends that, as a workaround, users should replace their Universal Controls with devices Update to the new beta version.

There are currently no additional new features found in macOS Monterey 12.4 Beta.
