Recent Chrome OS update broke some Chromebooks’ camera fix revealed

A recent Chrome OS update disabled the camera on some users’ Chromebooks, but Google said Thursday that it released a fix to address the issue. Several bug reports found prior to the fix listed different issues; some said the camera “didn’t work at all”, while others said the camera “didn’t focus properly”.

People have also reported issues with a few different updates, at least one going back to Chrome 97. (The current version of Chrome OS is 100). Current reports of camera issues with devices involve at least the following devices:

We’ll share an update on this thread once the fix rolls out.” Google then said on its support forums that it had released fixes for these issues in an update.
