Pixel 6/6 Pro: Users report randomly adjusted ringtones, beeps and alarm tones

All users of the Pixel 6 smartphones were able to rejoice in April because the security update was rolled out on time and did not cause any problems on the devices. But apparently, only in the last few days, a problem has arisen, which can be classified more as annoyance and not really as a stumbling block: For many users, the ringtones and beeps have been adjusted.

Ringtones, beeps and alarm tones are available on the Pixel smartphones in a large selection, but no longer have the importance as in previous years. Many users are likely to have retained the standard tones and become accustomed to them.

But at some point in the last few days, these tones have been changed by the system to more random other tones. Interestingly, these should be sounds that are used in the system but are actually not available for selection. The following tones were used, for example, in 9to5.

In fact, very random tones. For other users, it is probably other sound files, which are also designed less as a ringtone, beep or alarm clock. If you are trained on your own sounds, you may have missed one or the other call in the first few days.

All tones can be reset and should then no longer adjust by themselves. A bug fix on the part of Google should not be necessary, you just have to be careful that this does not happen again in May.

Why only Pixel 6 users are affected, at least there are no reports from other users, is not known. By the way, the standard tones for ringtone, beep and alarm tone are The Big Adventure, Popcorn & Bright Morning.
