Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 puts pressure on Apple: it has something that Apple Watch does not have

From the point of view of features dedicated to health monitoring, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 far surpasses many of the current smartwatches. Even the Apple Watch, which from this point of view makes it felt and will probably continue to do so in the future.

On the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, the new BioActive technology uses a single chip to manage three important health sensors: Optical Heart Rate Analysis, Electrical Heart Analysis and Bioelectrical Impedance. Thanks to these sensors, users can monitor blood pressure, detect irregular atrial fibrillation, measure blood oxygen levels, and even calculate body composition.

None of the current Apple Watches implement technology for monitoring blood pressure, and in fact, we will probably have to wait a few more years before this happens.

According to Bloomberg @MarkGurman, Apple could introduce an Apple Watch that can monitor blood pressure only in 2024. Citing people who have knowledge on the subject, @MarkGurman reported that the Cupertino team has actually already been working on this technology for some time, but due to a series of unknown issues the release of an Apple Watch with a sensor dedicated to monitoring blood pressure could come – if all goes according to plan – within two years, or even be postponed to 2025.

Pending the launch of the new sensor, however, Apple will update the Health app for iPhone by introducing new features for deeper and more accurate sleep monitoring, women’s health and medication management, including an option that will trigger a reminder for taking the pill. This year, however, the first Apple Watch with an integrated body temperature sensors is expected.
