Recently, Emergent Mobile filed a lawsuit in the Eastern District Court of Texas, alleging that Samsung Electronics infringed its patents.
Emergent Mobile, a Texas-based non-practicing entity (NPE), noted in the lawsuit that Samsung Electronics sold Galaxy Fold, S22 and XCover products to the detriment of its interests as the holder of the related patents, business area reported.
The three patents currently under discussion relate to the sending and receiving of multilingual disaster alert SMS messages, emergency alert systems, and global satellite navigation system solutions. Samsung Electronics said it would conduct a thorough investigation and react accordingly.
The report noted that this is the first time Emergent Mobile has filed a lawsuit against Samsung Electronics, which filed a similar lawsuit against LG Electronics last year.
