The new branding for ChromeOS was hinted at weeks before, now it can actually be seen on the first devices. So far, however, it has not been officially communicated.
Google will rename the previous Chrome OS to ChromeOS in these weeks. So the space in the name is omitted. In my opinion, this makes the new brand more independent in its appearance.
On the first devices, the latest Canary build brings the new branding. Just in time enough to possibly present the new branding at Google I/O next May.
To date, it is not clear whether only the name of the operating system will change or perhaps even more. It is certainly also interesting whether Google might not prepare similar changes for Wear OS internally.
