For third-party development on any Android device, having a kernel source code is very, very important. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the XDA member kill process, the unofficial port of the Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is now available for the 3 devices in the family.
TWRP is important for custom ROMs and other modifications that occur on the device. A custom recovery like TWRP is more important for some because it allows for after-sales or third-party development.
The main purpose of this recovery is to help your device rejuvenate in any custom flashing event. Without custom recovery, it is not even possible to swipe a custom ROM, as inventory recovery is very strict when it comes to having unofficial software run on Galaxy S22 or any other device.

However, it should be noted that the current TWRP is currently limited to the Exynos version (SM-S90xB) of the Galaxy S22 series. However, developers will soon release a snapdragon-compatible restored version. However, U.S. and Canadian users will have to wait a little longer, as the bootloader for the North American Snapdragon Edition Galaxy S22 cannot be unlocked as easily as the International Exynos and Snapdragon Editions.
Even if you manage to unlock the Bootloader for galaxy S22 and install the TWRP recovery program, this triggers the KNOX security system, voiding your warranty and disabling OTA updates. There’s no way to turn this around, which means you’ll also lose access to Samsung Pay and many other features that rely on Knox security.
