Using Autoplay in Apple Music and Music app

Apple Music subscribers can use the handy autoplay feature. This gives you the option to play music based on one selected track. You select a song and play it. Meanwhile, Apple Music will search for songs that fit within the same genre.

The Autoplay feature for Apple Music is available on iPhone, iPad and Mac and using it is super simple. You just need to know which button to tap/click to activate the option.

Scaling Autoplay in Music App

  • Open the Music app on your iPhone or iPad
  • Play one of your favorite songs
  • Switch to Caller ID, and tap the title bar above the button bar.
  • Tap the three lines at the bottom right of the screen
  • At the top right, select the(infinity symbol)

After activating Autoplay, the button is framed with a square. Press the Autoplay icon again to deactivate the function.

On a Mac, you can enable the feature since macOS Big Sur 11.3 by clicking the at the top of the Music window list icon. The next list will now open. Click on it(infinity symbol) to enable or disable the autoplay function.

Immediately after Autoplay is turned on, the screen will show the songs that will be played after the current song ends. Optionally, you can use the symbol after the numbers change the order of playback.

Via the button at the top right of the screen you can add the current song to, among other things, your favorites or a playlist. The tracks played will automatically appear in the history view when finished. You can of course also delete this history.

Autoplay is similar to the radio station feature for artists, albums, and songs. The downside of this feature is that it works with playlists. You activate Autoplay with a single tap and you don’t have to worry about it anymore, everything is fully automatic.
