Samsung updates three applications via Galaxy Store and Google Play Store: these are Samsung Internet Browser, which reaches stable version 17 after a few weeks of the beta phase, Reminder, which arrives at 12.3.05.8000, and Bixby, which improves with version 3.2 .12.16. Let’s start with Samsung Internet Browser 17, which has reached the stable version after more than a month of beta. The new features promise better tab handling, UI refinements and more advanced anti-tracking measures.
Thanks to the update, it is now possible to drag tabs on top of each other to more easily create tab groups. The latter was already available within the browser, but so far required a few more steps.
Another interesting novelty concerns the Smart Anti-Tracking system, slightly revised with this version and active by default: it is a function to prevent third parties from trying to track personal information and can be activated “always” or only with Secret Mode. The function is quickly accessible from the new “Privacy” quick access tab.
Finally, Samsung Internet Browser 17 welcomes an improved search experience within the history, saved pages and bookmarks, as well as refinements for the recognition of typing errors.
New Bixby 3.2.12.16 and Samsung Reminder 12.3.05.8000
The second app from the South Korean manufacturer to update in these hours is Bixby, the virtual assistant that has been receiving constant improvements in recent years. Version 3.2.12.16 is being distributed, which includes a very useful function for answering calls without touching the smartphone: it is now possible to accept incoming calls with a voice command without this being preceded by “ Hi, Bixby “. Similar speech to stop the alarm sound: now you no longer need to touch the phone to stop it.
For now, these assistant functions are active for the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra, but also for the foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. In the future, they will arrive on other models, but we do not have precise timing. The update also fixed some bugs and brought improvements to Bixby’s overall performance.
Samsung Reminders is also updated, reaching version 12.3.05.8000 and bringing improvements to the management and organization of reminders. Now you can manually sort the lists and move the reminders to another category in the list itself.
How to update Samsung Internet Browser, Reminders and Bixby
Samsung Internet Browser 17, Bixby 3.2.12.16 and Promemoria 12.3.05.8000 are already available for download through the Galaxy Store. You can download updates by opening the app from your smartphone or tablet and going to the dedicated section, or by selecting “Update applications” after holding down the icon. The update for the browser should also reach the Google Play Store in the next few days.
