YouTube’s “Cycu1” shared a video showing a tech demo running the original 1995 Unreal Engine with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 on a modern PC. This tech demo is not compatible with Windows 10 or Windows 11.
According to Cycu1, players can only run the project in Windows XP compatibility mode. But even with this workaround, the demo version is not stable on Microsoft’s latest operating system. The frame rate of the demo clip is not stable.
This 1995 Unreal Engine tech demo looks a bit dated by today’s standards. It’s not even comparable to Epic Games’ first Unreal game. Still, this tech demo brought back a lot of memories, and I’m sure many old FPS fans will miss those gaming days.
