Reddit forum user WhatDoesACowSay shared a screenshot of the map comparison between Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 2, comparing the key locations of the 1st and 2nd generations.
He focused on comparing 9 maps, including Eisenwald, Lijiang Tower, Dorado, Route 66, Monitoring Station Gibraltar, King’s Road, Ilios, Oasis and Colosseum (Colosseo, 2nd generation map). The comparison screenshots show the differences between the 1st and 2nd generation maps, and the timing of some maps has changed.
In Overwatch 2, Eisenwald has a background that resembles a sunset, rather than noon. The Lijiang Tower is sunny, not the dusk of the 1st generation. Dorado and King’s Row are night maps in Gen 1, and light up in Gen 2. Route 66 becomes a night map, Ilios is brighter and Oasis is darker.
Some fans believe that “Overwatch 2” has been slightly upgraded on the basis of “Overwatch 1”. But Blizzard will adjust some other things before the official release of the second generation.
