Meta opened the first Metaverse XR base in Asia today in Taiwan, China to promote XR policy discussions and industrial exchanges. XR is a general term for VR, AR, and MR. Meta starts from three aspects: talent cultivation, work development, and introduction of technology to expand the market to jointly build an XR industry ecosystem. In terms of culture and art, Meta will encourage the development of original XR content and the application of forward-looking technology, and assist in cultivating local XR creator communities; in the field of economics and business, Meta will cooperate with Taiwan Economic and Trade Network, a subsidiary of the Foreign Trade Association, so that future commercial exhibitions in Taiwan are no longer limited to In physical or online 2D mode, you can interact and communicate in the Metaverse pavilion; in terms of social welfare, Meta will work with Taiwanese non-profit organizations and local developers to establish indicative AR or VR public welfare demonstration cases in the future.
Chris Cox, Chief Product Officer of Meta, said that Meta firmly believes that the metaverse is the core of future community technology, and Taiwan, China has performed outstandingly in building-related hardware, setting up public infrastructure and increasing its popularity.
